Start Your Training Today

It’s easy to get started. Simply enrol online, log in, and begin learning right away. Because the training is online, there’s no waiting and no classroom needed.

Finally, you’ll feel fully prepared and confident to sit your official NSW boat licence test.

NOTE: You must also complete your theory test assessment with TfNSW: $43 (Boat Licence) $21 (Jet Ski) – $64 (both)

We are approved by Transport for NSW (TfNSW), through our partnership with an authorised Registered Training Organisation (RTO – No. 91487), to deliver face-to-face Boat Licence and PWC (Jet Ski) training in the Bega Valley region.

This online course is entirely separate — a stand-alone preparation resource designed to help you understand boating rules, safety requirements, and licence-test content so you’re confident and ready for the official assessment or just want to be safe on the water.

If you choose to complete this course online, please note that all official licence assessments and applications must be completed in person at a Service NSW or TfNSW centre, or through an approved RTO.

💡 Bonus learning pathway: The knowledge gained here can also support your understanding of commercial qualifications. If you later complete at least one day (8 hours) of seatime on a commercial vessel, it may help you prepare for the Coxswain Grade 3 Near Coastal Certificate (a nationally recognised commercial qualification).

This course, however, does not provide or contribute to any formal certification or RPL. It is an independent educational program, not delivered under any RTO licence or TfNSW approval.

For more information about the Coxswain Grade 3 Near Coastal Certificate, visit our commercial training site at sistershiptraining.com.

.

Not directly. This course is an independent preparation program designed to build your boating knowledge and confidence.
However, the skills and understanding you gain here can help you prepare for future study or training — for example, the Coxswain Grade 3 Near Coastal Certificate (a nationally recognised qualification administered by AMSA).

If you decide to pursue that pathway later, you’ll need to complete the official AMSA-approved training and meet their seatime, First Aid, and medical requirements.

The course includes 4 hours of video content, broken into 19 short, practical lessons. Each lesson includes real boating examples and a short quiz to help lock in your learning.

So you’ll need at least 4 hours to watch the content and then it depends on how long you spend on the quizzes – they usually take around 30-40 mins in total.

Most learners complete the course in 4.5 to 5 hours, depending on how long they spend on the quiz questions and any note-taking or revision. You can move through it at your own pace — pause, rewind, or revisit sections whenever you like.

You can choose 7, 14, or 30 days of access — whichever suits your schedule.
The shorter timeframes are designed to keep you focused and on track, so you can get licensed faster.
